Jointing can be carried out manually or by Automatic taping machine.
Lafarge Dalsan offers light joint compound called DERZTEK, which is used to fill and finish the joints.
Tapered edge board joint: hand application
Apply Lafarge Dalsan Jointing Compound to the joint. Cut Glassfiber Joint Tape to the lenght, centre the tape over the joint and press the tape firmly into compound. Take care to avoid trapping air bubbles and ensure that there is at least 1mm bed of jointing compound and strike off flush with the gypsumboard face. Allow to set hard or dry fully, then apply a second coat of jointing compound over the joint, feathering out 50 to 60mm beyond the edges of the first coat. Allow this to set hard or dry fully, complete the joint with a futher coat of jointing compound feathered out 50 to 60mm beyond the second coat.
Finally, finish the joint by sending smooth with 120 grit sanding paper.
